St Andrew’s Home and School Association is the parent fund raising and supporting body of the school. During the course of the year we hold various events to raise money for the benefit of the school and our children.
The money raised is used to improve educational resources at the school and help pay for various activities which the school would otherwise find too expensive to fund through their budget.
The children have benefited from new audio equipment, maths games, musical instruments, outside play equipment, a new computer and printer for our Infants, a digital camera, a pergola in the field and most recently some picnic benches so that the children can eat outside on sunny days. We contribute towards school trips such as a visit to the London Science Museum, an investigation of an archaeological dig and a trip to Duxford for a World War II re-enactment day. Sometimes we are able to help out with the costs of bringing specialist instructors into the school, such as dance teachers or a historic records advisor.
We also provide practical help where necessary. Past examples include creating a wildlife pond, constructing a rabbit-proof vegetable patch, making costumes or helping out with after-school clubs.
Every year we fund a trip to the Christmas pantomime and organise a Christmas party.
It’s good to know our efforts are appreciated!
